Traditional techniques and craftsmanship underpin Cecily Clune's designs, with hand-painted edges, bespoke leather or raffia and hand stitched details for each capsule collection. Cecily Clune is renowned for unique design details, from hand-casted hardware in particular and beautiful and unusual leather choices as well as strong silhouettes that create timeless design.
The design process starts with sketching, and then felt models which are thoroughly tested by the team to review their practicality and style before a first leather mock up is made. Then each design is reviewed and further samples are made before it is finally accepted as a Cecily Clune bag.
It is painstaking and time-consuming process and this is why we create usually one collection per year. We also only make in small numbers as our designs are not suited to mass production.
